“In the duet of Tímea Kovács and Kinga Ötvös, sound paints a space, while movement and body tell an endless story. How can you arrive somewhere while constantly on the move? Tension-inducing slowness, geometric shapes, and situative poses appear for a brief moment, only to keep on changing serenely. The performance is like an elaborate spell, a kind of ritual magic: I felt that the artists were mythological figures answering a question I hadn't even dared to ask myself. Yet in this minimalist, audiovisual experience, I did find an answer.
The richness of detail of the body, the gaze of the performers, the accidental and deliberate compositions, the movement and the play of associations are in focus throughout the performance as emotional indicators. Kinga’s and Tímea’s ability to concentrate is impressive, hypnotising the viewer from the first moment.” Levente Lukács, curator

Kinga Ötvös
… is a dancer, performer, musician based in Berlin. She received a BA degree in classical singing/opera singing and later in acting. As an actor, she was a member of the Hungarian State Theater of Cluj-Napoca for 3 years, and later collaborated with Látókép Ensemble and Horváth Csaba Physical Theater Company in Budapest as a freelancer. She has recently released her album Fluid Oratorio and also took part in the Athens Biennale as a sound designer in collaboration with Julian Weber. She has worked in many pieces as a dancer and opera singer, such as A life of contradictions at Humboldt Forum, Berlin. She is one of the founders of Postnational Theater ‘Interfonic’, based in Bucharest. The wide selection of her backgrounds translates in an arsenal of kaleidoscopic materials, bringing unexpectedness to her artistic language.
Tímea Kovács
… is an independent dancer, performer, movement teacher, and mother settled in Budapest. She is interested in perceiving, getting to know and experiencing the body, examining the questions that arise through it with creative tools. Her work is based on a decade of interest in softness, somatic methods (the Feldenkrais Method and Body-Mind Centering) and improvisation, a playful process of perceiving the present moment. She graduated from the National University of Theatre and Cinematography (UNATC) Bucharest as a choreographer in 2011 and worked in independent productions in Romania, Luxembourg, and Hungary. For 7 years, she has been organising the Wild Art Nature Camp - a context for connecting with nature and dance experiments. She is a founding member of SZOME, Association for Somatic Education and Movement.
